The combined effects of oxidisation and oligodynamy have created a two-phased product which - in opposition to other disinfectants - is capable of destroying biofilms. A process which is important in destroying viruses and bacteria that create so called biofilms as a natural protection. The oxygen separated from hydrogen peroxide destroys the biofilm, thus enabling the silver to destroy the bacteria or virus unhindered.
GeoSIL is especially effective to prevent recontamination of water with bacteria and viruses.
Surface Disinfection in Farms
If the disinfection with GeoSIL is omitted, there will still remain micro-organisms in the cleaned area as the physical cleaning does not destroy all germs. These unwelcome micro-organisms may grow between the different productions, and the animals following are contaminated as from the beginning of the breeding.
Even when detergents, water and mechanical units are able to remove visible dirt and some bacteria, a treatment with GeoSIL is indispensable in order to reduce and/or destroy bacteria which can cause food affected illness.
The use of the disinfectant GeoSIL is only effective when the surface to be treated does not show any visible dirt any more, and in such cases GeoClean, which combines a powerful detergent with the disinfecting qualities of GeoSIL, should be used..
Micro-organisms can grow in and underneath the deposits. None of the chemical disinfectants (incl. GeoSIL ) is able to penetrate the existing dirt successfully and in such a way that all micro-organisms are killed. Therefore, it is unconditionally necessary to clean the surfaces solidly prior to a disinfection.
